She is currently an Executive, Emotional Intelligence & Conversational Intelligence Coach, working with corporate managers and executives to help them build their leadership skills. Bijan Azad, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Olayan School of Business (OSB), American University of Beirut and the Director of Samih Darwazah Center for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship. Bijan pioneered the popular Entrepreneurship Practicum graduate course at AUB (modeled after Steve Blank’s Lean LaunchPad at Stanford). In 2015 he designed AUB’s Scale-Up Readiness Program that focuses on scale up challenges of companies in $1-$5 million revenue range in the Middle East. The program combines just-in-time executive education with diagnosis of company scale-up readiness as well as coaching to overcome barriers to scaling up. This is the first program of its kind in the Middle East with twelve companies in Jordan which have already gone through the program and are implementing scaling strategies—6 firms have already raised $17 million in growth funding.

Lamia Chamas earned a BSC and Diploma of Ingenieur Agricole (’90) from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and a DAA (‘92) in Plant Protection from the Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon (INA-PG).

She currently works as Senior Project Officer at the Project Administration Office (PAO); the unit at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers administering funds granted from the European Union. From September 2006 to date, Chamas assisted with the formulation of projects responding to Lebanon’s Economic Reform Paper presented to the Paris III donor’s meeting notably in relation to the reinforcement of the private sector competitiveness in Lebanon. She contracted and managed these projects in close coordination with the various beneficiaries from the different public institutions. She is also supporting the work aimed at developing the legal framework for social enterprises in Lebanon.

Before joining the PAO, she was working at the Ministry of Environment in Lebanon which she enrolled in 1994. There, she rapidly occupied a high responsibility position heading one of the Ministry’s key Departments: the Department of Conservation of Nature dealing with the protection of Natural Resources.

She is also a key speaker at the University Saint Joseph in Beirut for the course “Environmental Policies and Strategies” (academic year 2008 to date) and for the course “Elaboration of a Professional Project” (academic year 2011 to date).

Edmond started his career in France, where he worked in an Insurance Company. He got back to Lebanon in 1998 and got a teaching position at USJ, where he taught History and International Relations.
In 2013, he was appointed to lead the Career and Placement Office at the university. He soon realized that Entrepreneurship was a short way to getting professional skills and started initiating workshops about Entrepreneurship and organized several competitions on this topic. Alain Daou is an Assistant Professor in entrepreneurship at the Olayan School of Business (OSB) at the American University of Beirut. Before joining academia, Alain worked for 10 years with several organizations as project manager, country manager, in house advisor and consultant in Canada, Central America, Middle East and Africa.

Upon completing his PhD at Laval University in Canada (2014), he moved to the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven) in Belgium to complete a post-doctoral research project on social entrepreneurship. Since joining OSB in 2016, Alain received several grants to work on projects related to transformational entrepreneurship in Iraq; social entrepreneurship in Lebanon; circular economy in the Lebanese wine industry; and women angel investors in Lebanon among others.

He co-founded and managed many telecom companies in Lebanon, Iraq, and West-Africa, including most recently Terranet and Cable One. Besides her coaching career she is a Certified Facilitator to Deliver the Women on Board and in business leadership program with International Finance Corporation IFC. She is a lead facilitator with the MOWGLI Foundation with whom she facilitates mentoring programs in the MENA region. A member in the Lebanese League of Women in Business (LLWB) and a member in the women on Board committee. Dina Nasser Harake assumed the role of ambassador for Global Compact Network Lebanon GCNL in 2016, where she has strenuously committed herself to working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aligned with the principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of Human Rights, Environment, Anti-Corruption and Labor. After a 44-year long journey, I am finally home. No, I am not the prodigal son returning home. I have only come back so I can embark on yet another journey, a new, adventurous and exciting one that should keep me right here, well within the shores of Lebanon.

I left Beirut at 19, studied abroad, and started a land-development company in Texas in 1982. A year later, I met Tracy. She was my scuba-diving student. We got married in 1986, had 2 wonderful sons and a grandson.

In the 90s, I worked in Paris as an IT consultant. I also co-invented a device to quickly measure buildings. The venture collapsed in 2000. Soon after marrying, Tracy and I volunteered for many years as Board members for US non-profit organizations.

In 2015, Tracy was diagnosed with cancer. She passed away last year, leaving a big void in our lives. I am now back home, semi-retired, and looking for meaningful opportunities to contribute and volunteer in my own country. As I said, my new journey has just begun.

Previously, Camille worked as a management consultant for Deloitte & Touche in the Middle East. He helped clients set strategic directions and improve operational efficiency. He also led Deloitte’s internal “Knowledge Management” function, which contributed to the development of the Middle East Consulting practice and its integration with the global Deloitte family.

Joseph Otayek is the Managing Partner of APIS Health Consulting Group and has over 20 years of professional experience in Healthcare: policy making, strategy and management in the MENA and GCC regions. He was awarded the decoration of knight in the French National Order of Merit in 2007. He is the founding partner of Apis Health Consulting Group, a consulting and management firm specialized in healthcare policy making, strategy definition and implementation and management services. Joseph has over twenty-seven years of experience in this industry. He held different CEO positions in university teaching hospitals and is currently consulting for various healthcare institutions. Joseph’s main areas of interest are strategy and governance, finance and operations. He was nominated by Minister Karam Karam as healthcare financing system expert in the commission that designed the reform of the Healthcare Sector in Lebanon. He developed for the Ministry of Health the project of introducing palliative care in the panel of services covered by the government and by the insurance companies and made available to patients in Lebanon. During his career Joseph introduced many innovations in the Healthcare delivery industry specially in the areas of governance, segregation of duties, financing operations, financing investments, marketing. His major area of interest is governance of Healthcare systems: Healthcare is a right of all citizens, cost of healthcare is in constant growth, traditional market rules (law of supply and demand) do not regulate the market since you have two additional players in addition to the seller and the buyer that are the prescriptor and the payer. The governance system is still to be determined, each country trying to find the model that best adapts to its culture and habits. In 2005, he founded and directed for 7 years the multimedia division of Orbit Productions Ltd. – Mediagates, where he was responsible for mobile content production acquisition and aggregation as well as interactive services and programs beside all new media related topics such as IPTV, Mobile TV and Online marketing.

He is a frequent participant at interactive mobile, media and digital events in Cannes, Prague, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin and London.

This earned experience lead to a thorough know-how in the use of new media platforms for creative concepts of communication targeted at advertising agencies and corporations like Procter & Gamble, Nestle to develop their interactive advertising in line with the new trends and technologies.
